Tabla virtuoso Salar Nader presents an evening of traditional music from Afghanistan with renowned artists united in a rare performance. This heartfelt offering of melody, rhythm, and voice will evoke the spirit of renewal in celebration of Nawrooz, the Afghan new year. Guest musicians include master artists Homayoun Sakhi (rhubâb) with Hangama Zohra (vocals), Chetram Sahni (dhol), and Shamali Afghan (vocals). This program is a prayer for peace, reflecting the power of song and the calling of love.

Presented in collaboration with the Smithsonian Folklife Festival.

Audience capacity reduced to 50% and masks required indoors at all times.
