The Early Life of Taddeo
Taddeo Leaving Home Escorted by Two Guardian Angels

Against his father's wishes, fourteen-year-old Taddeo leaves his provincial hometown of Sant'Angelo in Vado to seek fame and fortune as an artist in Rome. He is accompanied by two guardian angels. The artist of this drawing, Federico, depicts himself clinging to his mother’s skirt: Taddeo and Federico were two of eight (possibly nine) children.

audio Curators Lee Hendrix and Julian Brooks describe the series and the link between Federico and Taddeo.
