Training

We envision conservation training as part of a long-term strategy of enhancing skills and capacity across the conservation disciplines needed at the site.

This strategy includes working to elevate the status of the conservation profession in Myanmar and the role it plays in helping to preserve the heritage of Bagan. It includes a series of specific courses targeting Department of Archaeology and National Museum staff that augments the experiential training undertaken as part of the other project components. Initial activities involve training in conservation theory, principles, and methodologies.
