Context Archeological Context-Discovery/Excavation Place: Sitio Conte (Veraguas, Panama) Authority
Descriptive Note Text: The design portrays a stylized monkey and snake, painted using complex abstract shapes, so that the background voids invade the forms of the figures. Excavated at the site of Sitio Conte, central Panama, in the early 20th century. Pedestal plates were massed in the graves facing upward, apparently to impress funeral-goers. Free text
