Sebastian, Saint (Christian character)

Note: Early Christian martyr and saint, according to his legend, martyred during the persecution of Christians by the Roman emperor Diocletian. Saint Sebastian is often depicted as youthful and pierced by arrows. His feast day is January 20. The details of Saint Sebastian's martyrdom were first spoken of by 4th-century bishop Ambrose of Milan.
