|
Note: Permanent purple pigment historically used to make ruby glass and to create vitreous ceramic glazes used in painting, porcelain, and coloring enamels. It is synthesized by precipitating fine gold particles onto tin oxide particles. Adding potassium carbonate to the solution deepens the purple hue. The pigment is named for Andreas Cassius who first made it in 1676. It was largely replaced in the 19th century by the less costly equivalent cobalt violet. |

Dutch ..... Permanent paars pigment dat vroeger werd gebruikt om robijnglas te maken, en om glasachtig keramisch glazuur te maken dat voor schilderijen, porselein en de kleuring van email wordt gebruikt. Het wordt gesynthetiseerd door kleine gouddeeltjes op tinoxidedeeltjes te doen neerslaan. Toevoeging van kaliumcarbonaat aan de oplossing zorgt voor een diepere paarse tint. Het pigment is genoemd naar Andreas Cassius, die het in 1676 voor het eerst maakte. Vanaf de 19e eeuw wordt in plaats van dit pigment het minder kostbare equivalent kobaltviolet gebruikt. |
