Note: Refers to a Neolithic Chinese culture and period that flourished ca. 5000 to ca. 3000 BCE. The earliest known Neolithic Chinese culture, Yangshao culture is mainly characterized by its red and black painted pottery. It is named after a site at Yangshao cun in Henan province, discovered in 1921 by the Swedish archaeologist Johan Gunnar Andersson. Centered on the Wei River valley, it covered a large area from Baoji, Shaanxi province, eastwards into Henan province. |

Chinese (traditional) ..... 指興盛於西元前約5000年至西元前約3000年的一種中國新石器文化,為目前所知年代最早的中國新石器文化,主要特色為紅陶及黑陶。瑞典考古學家約翰.貢納爾.安德森 (Johan Gunnar Andersson) 於西元1921年在河南省仰韶村發現該遺址,故名仰韶文化。以渭水河谷為中心,範圍由陝西省寶雞市向東延伸至河南省。

De Yangshao-cultuur, de vroegst bekende Chinese neolithische cultuur, wordt hoofdzakelijk gekenmerkt door zijn rood en zwart geschilderde aardewerk. De naam is ontleend aan een site bij het dorp Yangshao in de provincie Henan, die in 1921 werd ontdekt door de Zweedse archeoloog Johan Gunnar Andersson. Het gebied, met als centrum de vallei van de rivier de Wei, besloeg een groot deel van Baoji, in de provincie Shaanxi, en strekte zich naar het oosten toe uit tot in de provincie Henan. |

Cubrió un área grande de Baoji, provincia de Shaanxi, hacia el este en la provincia de Henan. |
