Note: Bridges having a deck that is directly supported from towers or pylons by straight cables without vertical suspenders. Construction of cable-stayed bridges usually follows the cantilever method. After the tower is built, one cable and a section of the deck are constructed in each direction. Each section of the deck is pre-stressed before continuing. The process is repeated until the deck sections meet in the middle, where they are connected. The ends are anchored at the abutments. |

German ..... Brücke mit einer Tragfläche, die mittels Kabel ohne vertikale Unterstützung direkt von Türmen oder Pylonen getragen wird. Der Bau einer Schrägseilbrücke erfolgt meist im Freivorbauverfahren. Nach Errichtung des Turms werden in jede Richtung jeweils ein Kabel und ein Segment der Tragfläche gebaut. Jeder Teil der Tragfläche wird vorgespannt, bevor mit dem weiteren Bau fortgefahren wird. Der Prozess wird wiederholt, bis sich die Tragflächenteile in der Mitte treffen, wo sie verbunden werden. Die Enden werden in den Stützpfeilern verankert. |
Portuguese ..... Pontes com tabuleiro sustentado diretamente em torres ou postes por cabos retos sem suspensórios verticais. A construção de pontes estaiadas geralmente segue o método cantilever. Depois que a torre é construída, um cabo e uma seção do deck são construídos em cada direção. Cada seção do deck é pré-tensionada antes de continuar. O processo é repetido até que as seções do convés se encontrem no meio, onde são conectadas. As extremidades são ancoradas nos pilares. |
