Note: Inland vessels used in the Netherlands from the seventeenth century to the nineteenth century to transport passengers on the waterways. The barge could be drawn by a horse, but it was also an option to sail. The boat was generally a stretched vessel about fifteen meters long with a falling prow, a tent, and later a wooden structure with windows that gave the passengers shelter. |

Dutch ..... Een binnenvaartuig dat in de Nederlanden van zeventiende eeuw tot in de negentiende eeuw werd gebruikt voor het vervoeren van passagiers over de waterwegen. De schuit werd gejaagd door een paard, maar kon eveneens gezeild worden. De trekschuit was over het algmeen een gestrekt vaartuig van circa vijftien meter lang met vallend voorsteven, een tent en later een vaste opbouw met ramen die de passagiers beschutting gaf. |
