garnett machines (textile machines, <textile fabricating tools and equipment>, ... Furnishings and Equipment (hierarchy name)) |
|
Note: Mechanized processing machines designed to convert textile waste or cheap raw materials into usable fibers for yarn spinning and other textile applications. Strongly resembling carding machines, these devices are made of large metal cylinders with fine spiral grooves cut into their surfaces; rigid blades are wound into the groves. Carding elements, such as wire teeth or rollers, can also be mounted to the surface of the cylinders in lieu of the grooves and blades. As the cylinders rotate, raw or scrap materials are fed into the device. The carding elements or blades on the rotating cylinders work to open, separate, and align the materials' fibers, removing impurities and creating a uniform batt of fibers. These devices provide a sustainable solution for recycling textile waste. |
