Note: The spinnable fibers resulting from processing silk; damaged cocoons, waste caused by searching for the beginning of a continuous filament while reeling silk, or the inner section of a cocoon out of which moths have been allowed to escape. When spun, this yarn is less lustrous than filament silk yarn. It is mostly used as warp or weft in a fabric, or for products such as ribbon and sewing thread. |

Dutch ..... Algemene term voor de spinbare vezels die voortkomen uit de productie van zijde; wat loskomt tijdens het vinden van de draad, dat wat over is als de draad volledig is afgerold of in geval van beschadigde cocons. Deze gesponnen zijde is minder sterk en glanzend dan de zijdedraad, maar kan gebruikt worden als de schering of inslag van een weefsel, of verwerkt in kleinere textielproducten als lint en naaigaren. |
