Note: Vestments worn in some Eastern Orthodox churches as a sign of authority or rank. These are made from a stiff, lozenge-shaped or rectangular cloth, and hang on the right side of the body, below the waist. These may have a cross or other image embroidered on it, and are suspended at knee height by a ribbon attched to the girdle or shoulder. |
