Note: A relatively thin cardboard made from recycled paper; it is clay-coated or surfaced with white paper. Railroad board is often made water resistant to prevent buckling when waterborne paint is used or because of handling with wet hands. Four and six-ply are common thicknesses and it is typically found in black, white, or one of several lackluster, dyed colors.

| Dutch ..... Betrekkelijk dun soort karton van gerecycled papier, bedekt met een kleilaagje of wit papier. #Railroad board wordt vaak waterbestendig gemaakt om bol staan bij gebruik van verf op waterbasis te voorkomen, of met het oog op het vastpakken met natte handen. Veel voorkomende dikten zijn vier- en zeslaags, en meestal is dit karton uitgevoerd in zwart, wit of een kleur uit een reeks van doffe kleuren. |
| Spanish ..... Cartón relativamente fino hecho de papel reciclado. Recubierto de arcilla o con papel blanco. Los anuncios de ferrocarril se hacen a menudo a prueba de agua para evitar que se curven al cubrirlos con pintura a base de agua o al manipularlos con las manos mojadas. El grosor habitual es de cuatro y seis pliegues, y se encuentra casi siempre en negro, blanco o uno de varios colores teñidos con lustre de laca. |
