Note: Wood of the species Betula alleghaniensis, native to the northeastern part of North America, with light yellow sapwood and reddish-brown heartwood. It is similar to sweet birch and is not separated from it commercially. It is used in the making of fine furniture, joinery, spools, bobbins, and plywood. |

Dutch ..... Hout van de boom behorende tot het genus Betula alleghaniensis, inheems in het noordoostelijk deel van Noord-Amerika, met lichtgeel spinthout en roodachtig bruin kernhout. Het lijkt op suikerberkenhout en commercieel wordt er geen onderscheid gemaakt tussen de twee. Het hout wordt gebruikt voor het maken van kwaliteitsmeubilair, schrijnwerk, spoelen, klossen en triplex. |
Spanish ..... Madera del árbol perteneciente a la especie Betula alleghaniensis, nativa del noreste de América del Norte, con un albumen amarillo claro y un duramen marrón rojizo. Es similar al abedul dulzón y comercialmente no se les diferencia. Se utiliza en muebles finos, ebanistería, carretes, bobinas y madera contrachapada. |
