cyclohexane (<solvent by composition or origin>, solvent, ... Materials (hierarchy name)) |
|
Note: A colorless strong-smelling cyclic hydrocarbon obtained from petroleum or by hydrogenating benzene. The structure is an aliphatic cyclic hydrocarbon. It is a common solvent that is used in organic synthesis, particularly the production of nylon. It dissolves many types of materials such as cellulose ethers, fats, oils, and rubber. Cyclohexane is often used in varnish and paint. |
