Note: In ancient China, stone structures resembling watchtowers which marked the entrance to a building complex. Generally built in pairs, they stand on opposing sides of a road or walkway, and are typically found in front of citadels, palaces, mansions, ancestral temples, and mausoleums. |

Dutch ..... Stenen constructies in het oude China die op wachttorens leken en de ingang van een gebouwencomplex aangaven. Ze werden vaak paarsgewijs gebouwd en staan aan weerszijden van een weg of wandelgang. Ze staan vaak voor een citadel, een paleis, een herenhuis een vooroudertempel of een mausoleum. |
