Note: Yellow pigments composed of lead stannate that were used in European painting from the beginning of the 14th century until the early years of the 18th century, when it was largely replaced by Naples yellow (lead antimonate yellow). Two distinct varieties are known, both made by heating together lead and tin oxides in a furnace, with one type having sand (silicon dioxide) introduced. Both pigments are stable, used as opacifiers, colorants in glass and ceramic glazes, and in all paint media. Lead-tin yellow was often used in mixtures with other pigments such as lead white, vermilion, azurite, verdigris, and indigo. |

Chinese (traditional) ..... 一種以水合錫酸鉛為主成分的黃色顏料,從西元十四世紀初期即應用於歐洲繪畫,一直到十八世紀早期才由拿坡里黃(銻酸鉛黃)取代。已知有兩種鉛錫黃,皆在熔爐內將鉛及錫氧化物一起加熱製成,不過其中一種會再加入沙(二氧化矽)。兩種顏料皆性質穩定,可做為乳濁劑、玻璃、陶瓷釉和其他美術媒材的著色劑。鉛錫黃常與鉛白、硃砂、藍銅礦、銅綠和靛藍等其他色料混合使用。 |
Dutch ..... Gele pigmenten die bestaan uit loodstannaat en die van het begin van de 14e eeuw tot de vroege 18e eeuw werden gebruikt in de Europese schilderkunst, waarna het grotendeels werd vervangen door Napels geel (loodantimonaatgeel). Er zijn twee verschillende varianten bekend, beide gemaakt door lood en tinoxiden samen te laten smelten in een oven. Bij de ene soort wordt zand (siliciumdioxide) toegevoegd. Beide pigmenten zijn stabiel en worden gebruikt als opacifieermiddelen, kleurmiddelen in glas- en keramiekglazuur en in alle verfmiddelen. Loodtingeel werd vaak gebruikt in mengsels met andere pigmenten, zoals loodwit, vermiljoen, azuriet, patina en indigo. |
