Note: Long, wide-sleeved tunics of the type worn as Christian liturgical vestments, or as secular dress in earlier periods, with or without a belt. In modern times it has been sometimes worn by kings or emperors. In the western church, the dalmatic is the outer liturgical vestment of the deacon, worn by bishops under the chasuble at solemn pontifical Masses, and by priests only with permission and on certain occasions; normally priests wear chasubles and subdeacons wear tunicles. |

Arabic ..... سترات طويلة بأكمام واسعة من النوع الذي كان يُلبس كملابس طقسية مسيحية، أو كملابس علمانية في فترات سابقة، بحزام أو بدونه. في العصر الحديث كان يرتديه أحيانًا الملوك أو الأباطرة. في الكنيسة الغربية، الدلماتيكي هو الرداء الليتورجي الخارجي للشماس، الذي يرتديه الأساقفة تحت القداس في القداس البابوي الرسمي، والكهنة فقط بإذن وفي مناسبات معينة؛ عادةً ما يرتدي الكهنة المطاردات ويرتدي الشمامسة الغلال. |
Dutch ..... Gedecoreerde tunica's met lange mouwen, gedragen als liturgische gewaden bij christelijke eucharistievieringen. Ze vallen tot op de knieën en worden door diakenen over de albe heen gedragen, terwijl priesters een kazuifel dragen en subdiakenen een tunica. De term kan ook verwijzen naar soortgelijke gewaden gedragen als niet-kerkelijke kledij in het Romeinse Rijk of door Engelse koningen, in het bijzonder bij kroningen. |
German ..... Lange, weitärmelige Tunika, von der Art, die als christliches liturgisches Gewand getragen wurde oder als säkulare Kleidung in früheren Epochen mit und ohne Gürtel. In jüngerer Zeit wurde sie manchmal von Königen oder Kaisern getragen. In der Westkirche ist die Dalmatik das liturgische Obergewand eines Diakons, vom Bischof unter der Kasel bei festlichen Messen getragen und von Priestern nur mit Erlaubnis und zu speziellen Gelegenheiten; gewöhnlich trug ein Priester eine Kasel und ein Subdiakon eine Tunicella. |
