Note: The strongest and securist parts of Japanese castles, these tower-like structures were constructed both within other buildings and free-standing and were sometimes located within an inner compound called a "honmaru". Soms bevonden ze zich op een binnenhof dat men ���honmaru' noemde. Ze konden vrijstaan of verbonden zijn met andere constructies van hetzelfde type. Gebruik ���donjon' voor dit soort vestingwerken in West-Europese kastelen. |
