Note: Rare and expensive wood figured with golden markings, from the species Dalbergia cearensis native to South America, mainly Brazil. The sapwood is white in color, with clearly defined variegated colored heartwood. It is varied from violet-brown to almost black, and streaked with violet brown, black, blackish-violet, or golden yellow. Because of the small size of the trees, its uses are restricted to decorative work, such as inlay and turnery. |

Dutch ..... Hout van de boom behorende tot het genus Dalbergia, inheems in Zuid-Amerika, voornamelijk Brazilië. Het spinthout is wit van kleur met duidelijk begrensd, veelkleurig kernhout. De kleuren variëren van violetbruin tot bijna zwart, met violetbruine, zwarte, zwartviolette of goudgele strepen. Vanwege het kleine formaat van de bomen zijn de toepassingen van het hout beperkt tot decoratief werk, zoals inlegsels en draaiwerk. |
Spanish ..... Madera del árbol perteneciente a la especie Dalbergia, originaria de América del Sur, principalmente Brasil. La albura es blanca, y el duramen claramente definido, de color veteado. Varía de marrón violeta a casi negro, y las vetas son marrón violeta, negras, violeta negruzcas o amarillo dorado. Dado el pequeño tamaño de los árboles, se utiliza estrictamente para trabajo decorativo, como en incrustaciones y tornería. |
