Note: Describes satinwood, mahogany, and painted furniture in England and the United States from 1790 to 1805 and based on designs published by English cabinetmaker Thomas Sheraton (1751-1806). Sheraton's three influential books progress in style from Neoclassical to Empire though now his name is used to describe the general taste in furniture at the end of the 18th century. |

Chinese (traditional) ..... 指西元1790至1805年,英國和美國的一種緞木、桃花心木製彩繪家具式樣,此式樣以英國家具設計師湯瑪斯.雪里頓(西元1751-1806年)出版的設計款式為本。雪里頓三本頗具影響力的著作呈現出新古典主義到帝國風格的變異,而現今雪里頓之名常用於形容十八世紀末期普遍的家具品味。 |

Beschrijft mahonie, satijnhouten en beschilderde meubels uit Engeland en de Verenigde Staten tussen 1790 en 1805, gebaseerd op de ontwerpen van de Engelse meubelmaker Thomas Sheraton (1751-1806). De drie invloedrijke boeken van Sheraton tonen een geleidelijke ontwikkeling van de neoklassieke naar de Empire-stijl. Maar tegenwoordig wordt zijn naam gebruikt om de algemene meubelsmaak aan het einde van de 18de eeuw aan te duiden. |
