Chickasaw Removal (American history, 1837-1851)

Note: Period of forced removal of Chickasaws from their homelands in the southeastern United States; instigated by the Indian Removal Act of 1830. One of the longest removals in U.S. history, largely due to many Chickasaws attempting to fund their own journeys through land sales.
