Red River War (American history, 1874-1875)

Note: Conflict between the United States Army and the Kiowa, Comanche, Southern Cheyenne (Tsitsistas), and Southern Arapaho, as a result of failed treaty promises and sustained famine. Ended in the capture of many Native participants, sending most to Fort Sill, Oklahoma and Fort Marion, Florida. Many of these prisoners created ledger art during their internment, depicting scenes from the Red River War.
