One of the first major markets and series of exhibitions for Native North American art; helped establish Santa Fe, New Mexico as center of this trade. Early efforts by non-Native organizers focused on preservation of supposed "authentic" styles; the market has evolved over time into a series of events displaying and selling contemporary Native North American art.
