Sin (Akkadian deity)

Note: Merged with the identity of the Sumerian deity, Nanna. His name was originally Su-en, later contracted to Sin, which designated the crescent moon. Sin was represented as an old man with a flowing beard—a wise and unfathomable god—wearing a headdress of four horns surmounted by a crescent moon.
