China Principles (conservation principles, 1997-2000)

Note: Principles for the conservation of heritage sites in China developed by China ICOMOS in collaboration with heritage experts from the United States and Australia. These guidelines adopt ideas from Western codes of conservation, especially Australia’s Burra Charter, while they respect and reflect Chinese approaches to conservation under the country’s existing laws for the protection of cultural heritage.
