Instigated via coup d'état led by former president Emiliano Chamorro, forcing president Carlos Soĺorzano and vice-president Juan Sacasa to flee the country. Guerilla leader Augusto Sandino rejected accords mediated by renewed U.S. intervention. Paved the way for following the Somoza regime. | |
