Nicaraguan Civil War (Nicaraguan history, 1925-1933)

Note: Internal war, occurring after U.S. departure. Instigated via coup d'état led by former president Emiliano Chamorro, forcing president Carlos Soĺorzano and vice-president Juan Sacasa to flee the country. Guerilla leader Augusto Sandino rejected accords mediated by renewed U.S. intervention. Paved the way for following the Somoza regime.
