Third Anglo-Afghan War (Anglo-Afghan war, 1919)

Note: Third armed conflict between the British and Afghanistan, stemming from the assassination of Afghan ruler Ḥabībullāh Khan, and the installation of his son Amānullāh Khan in his place, who favored complete independence from Britain. Results of the conflict included a treaty recognizing Afghan independence, and the Afghans beginning a friendly relationship with the Soviets.
