Martyrdom of Saint Andrew

Note: Narrative or devotional themes surrounding the crucifixion of St. Andrew by order of the Roman governor; he was bound, not nailed, to the cross, in order to prolong his sufferings. The cross on which he suffered is commonly portrayed as the decussate (X-shaped) cross.
