Q Source (lost Biblical document, 65/95 CE)

Note: Hypothetical lost literary work that is thought by many scholars to be the source material for some of the Gospels of Matthew and Luke, but not in the Gospel of Mark. Thought to be a written collection of Jesus' sayings (logia). Some biblical scholars believe that an unknown redactor composed a Greek-language proto-Gospel. It may have been circulating in written form about the time the Synoptic Gospels were composed, 65/95 CE. The name Q was coined by the German theologian and biblical scholar Johannes Weiss.
