Froissart's Chronicles (history, Froissart, after 1370)

Note: Froissart's Chronicles is preserved in more than 150 manuscripts, many of which are illustrated. Prose chronicle of the Hundred Years' War, from events leading up to the deposition of Edward II in 1326 through ca. 1400, including events in England, France, Scotland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, the Balkans, Cyprus, Turkey, and North Africa. Although today recognized as inaccurate in its historical accounts, the book is an important description of the chivalric culture of the 14th-century.
