Iliad (epic poem, Homer, 8th century BCE)

Note: Epic poem on the Trojan War traditionally attributed to the ancient Greek poet Homer; in dactylic hexameter. Set during the Trojan War, the 10-year siege of Troy (Ilium) by a coalition of Greek states, it tells of the battles and events surrounding the conflict between King Agamemnon and the warrior Achilles.
