Grant Period: July 2012–August 2012

This grant supported a workshop at the Getty Research Institute for curatorial and professional archivists from noted American art museums. The workshop, which coincided with the annual meeting of the Society of American Archivists in San Diego, focused on the evolving role of art museum archivists and the ways in which museums' archival programs support core institutional missions related to the display, interpretation, and contextualization of works of art.
