	Meeting of David and Abigail (Old Testament narrative)

Note: Episode in the life of David, during his exile in the wilderness in southern Judah. After he and his troops were denied provisions by a local sheep farmer, Nabal, David intended to inflict punishment on the farmer and his people. The farmer's wife, Abigail, placated David by sending supplies; however, her husband Nabal died upon hearing the news. Abigail then consented to become David's second wife (1 Samuel 25:2–42).
