Marriage of Louis XIV and Marie-Thérèse of Austria (French history, 1660)

Note: In 1660 in Fuenterrabia, there was a marriage by proxy of Marie to Louis. Then the bride, her father, and the Spanish court met Louis and his court at the Isle of Pheasants in the Bidassoa. The couple left Spain; on 9 June the marriage took place in Saint-Jean-de-Luz at church of Saint Jean the Baptist. On 26 August the newlyweds made the traditional Joyous Entry into Paris, amid numerous celebrations.
