Life of Saint Catherine of Alexandria (Christian iconography)

Note: Narratives about the life and martyrdom of St. Catherine of Alexandria, a legendary Christian figure who was said to have been martyred in the early 4th century at the hands of the pagan emperor Maxentius. The cult of Catherine of Alexandria probably originated in oral traditions from the 4th-century Diocletianic persecutions of Christians in Alexandria.
