Paul the Apostle, Saint (Christian character)

Note: Apostle, converted after the death of Christ; credited with spreading the gospel to the early 1st-century world; he founded several churches in Asia Minor and Europe. Paul was both a Jew and a Roman citizen, which placed him in a unique position to minister to both Jewish and Roman audiences. Paul is considered to have been a historical person, but much of his legend is not known to be based in fact. 14 books in the New Testament have traditionally been attributed to Paul; 7 of the epistles are undisputed by scholars as being authentic.

Display Date: ca. 5 CE- ca. 67 CE
