Repentant Magdalene (Christian iconography)

Note: Narrative or devotional image in which Mary Magdalene repents her life of loose morals, or devotional portrait-like composition of the penitent Magdalene. May be portrayed as a young, beautiful woman holding attributes such as a crucifix and bottle of oil (with which she had annointed the feet of Christ). Alternatively, may be portrayed as an old hermit, wearing a hairshirt of repentance.
