Reign of Terror (French Revolution, 1793-1794)

Note: Series of activities endorsed by the French Revolutionary government during the period September 5, 1793, to July 27, 1794; incited by conflict between two rival political factions, the Girondins and Jacobins. It was marked by harsh treatment and mass executions of those suspected of being enemies of the Revolution, for example, nobles, priests, immigrants, and hoarders.
