Furies (Roman characters)

Note: In Roman mythology, the chthonic goddesses of vengeance, having Greek counterparts. They were probably originally personified curses, but possibly they were originally conceived of as ghosts of the murdered. The Furies had snakes for hair and blood dripped from their eyes. In addition they had bats' wings and dogs' heads.
