Note: Pair of Meissen-made vases featuring porcelain flowers, a popular decoration in wealthy Parisian homes in the 1740s. These particular vases were cut down and had gilt-bronze mounts added by a French manufacturer. The flowers, created by the Vincennes Porcelain Manufactory (1740-1756), were set into the pre-existing stems.
