Note: Taken as part of Evans' work with the Farm Security Administration or FSA (1937-1946). Depicts the Wooldridge Family Monuments in Maplewood Cemetery, Graves County, Kentucky. These monuments were commissioned by local horse breeder Henry G. Wooldridge in a period from about 1890 to 1899 to serve as funerary ornaments for himself and his predeceased family. Evans extensively traveled throughout the American South during his time working with the FSA, photographing both Southern workers and the landscape.
