Note: The Secret of the Great Pyramid was a 17,000 square meter (183,000 square feet) image created by adhering printed paper to the surface of the Napoleon Courtyard surrounding the glass pyramid at the Palais du Louvre. It was an “anamorphosis” design that from one specific aerial perspective, the third floor of the Louvre, created the illusion that the pyramid appeared to be double its height, emerging from a dark canyon or quarry. It was installed in the course of three days and destroyed by visitors within hours of its completion. It was typical of the artist JR's monumental print projects, and was created to mark the 30th anniversary of the pyramid.
