Note: Large brass memorial to 15th-century merchant Roger Thornton and his wife, Agnes, and 14 children; it is fixed vertically behind the altar of the St. Nicholas Cathedral. Formerly covered the Thorntons' grave in nearby All Saints' Church. A horizontal replica of the brass, for the purpose of tourists' making rubbings, is located near the north door of St. Nicholas Cathedral.
