Ready for Prime Time: Condition and Aesthetics in Old Master Drawings
The Museum's collection of Old Master drawings has been part of numerous exhibitions at the Getty Museum. But these old and fragile sheets may also have condition issues. While curators assess the qualities of a drawing, conservators evaluate condition and, when necessary, treat them in order to reveal the artist's original intent. Nancy Yocco, associate conservator of drawings, the J. Paul Getty Museum, highlights a number of such sheets.
