Kirstein, Lincoln (American writer and ballet impresario, 1907-1996)
|
Note: New York-based cultural impresario and cofounder of the New York City Ballet for which he served as director from 1949-1989. Kirstein enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII and played a role in the discovery of works of art looted by the Nazis. His published works include poetry, novels, and criticism. |
