Running, Paul D. (American painter, born 1923)
|
Note: Paul D. Running was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, March 22, 1923. His family had ties to the Trondheim and Nordfjorn areas in Norway. He received his BA from St. Olaf College in 1947, after also attending Carleton College and Yale University. He received his MFA from the University of Iowa in painting in 1949 and his PhD in Art History in 1951. Running taught drawing, painting, and art history since 1949 at a number of institutions. Since 1956 he has been a Professor of Drawing and Painting at Bowling Green State University, retiring in 1992. In addition to teaching, Running has also been an instructor of art for tours and travel programs. |
