Nam Yuyong (Korean calligrapher and government official, 1698-1773)
|
Note: Nam Yuyong was a calligrapher, painter, and civil official in the late Joseon period. He started teaching King Jeongjo (r. 1776-1800), the oldest son of Crown Prince Sado, when he was three years old. Nam's son Nam Gongcheol (1760-1840) later served as a chief councilor. Nam Yuyong was talented at calligraphy and skillfully applied styles from all ages to elevate his calligraphy to a high artistic level. |
