Lehman, Harold (American painter and muralist, 1913-2006)
|
Note: Born in New York City, Lehman relocated to California when he was 16 years old. He attended Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles with Philip Guston and Jackson Pollack in the 1920s. In the 1930s he assisted Siquieros on a series of murals in Los Angeles while still a student at the Otis Art Institute. He returned to New York City in the mid-1930s where he completed murals under the Works Projects Administration. He is associated with the Post-Surrealist movement. American WPA artist. |
