Note: The mountain of Cuilcagh rises on the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Its lower slopes contain many caves and the Northern Ireland side in County Fermanagh encompasses the famous Marble Arch Caves. The mountain is also the site of the Cuilcagh Mountain Park, created in 1999 with the main purpose of conserving the unique blanket bog area on the mountain. The area attracts international tourism, and was designated a European Geopark in February 2002.
